Q: Newly pregnant, lots of questions...

Hello Lovely Ladies!
I found out I was pregnant on Tuesday (10/7) which was 10dpo, I had a very strong, bold second line that appeared in tandem with the first. I thought this rather odd since I was still 3 days from missing AF.

I bought a ClearBlue advanced pregnancy test with weeks estimator this morning and took it around 11am (I've been up since 5am, so it obviously not the first tinkle of the day!) It says "Pregnant 3+" I know that reading is supposed to mean weeks past ovulation, but I haven't even missed my period yet. My last cycle was Sept 12, I ovulated Sept. 24. Why would it show me at 3+ weeks? Elevated levels of hgc, I know, but it seems odd that they would be this high so early in pregnancy.

My OB appointment isn't until the 29th...

Thanks!
Lauren

The weeks indicator is inaccurate as it simply goes off your HCG number, which varies from pregnancy to pregnancy. Go by your LMP instead. Congrats on the pregnancy! Wishing you a healthy and happy one!

My levels were really high early on too. Went in to the ER when I was 6 weeks along (based on LMP date) and when they did my bloodwork they suspected twins as my levels were well over double the average but only found one baby on ultrasound measuring right on track (plus a few days lol).

My cycles are extremely regular--I'm one of those girls who works like a clock. I am positive on my dates. I was tracking ovulation through both ovulation tests and BBT.

Firstly - congratulations!

For your HcG levels... do you have fairly regular cycles? Or how are you basing your ovulation date? Are you certain of the date, or is it a guess? It does sound pretty high for how far along you think you are... maybe you are farther along than you think!
