Q: Nuchal Scan today (NT) feeling scared

Hi ladies. I'm so thankful to make it to 3 mths after 4 losses in 12mths.
This is my 2nd baby but as my 1st is 7yrs I can't remember the NT scan.
I'm so nervous I'm going to have my results in that high risk category of 1:300 I'm 38yrs hubby 40.
If I get a result under 1:300 I have to have the NIPT test done and if 1:80 I have to have an amnio done.
Today is Monday 12w1d had bloods done on Thursday.
Feeling a bit anxious due to age and what I've been through to get to this point.
Anyone else feel like this for their NT scan.
My sonography will tell me everything she's a great friend.
Scan last week at 11w2d was good but couldn't see anything regarding nasal bones etc.
Is weight also a factor in results?

No need to think about it anymore results were amazing for my age. She said for my age general risk is 1-120 and mine results were 1-2500. Thickness of the fluid behind the neck was nice and thin 1.5 nasal bone good and clear and my bloods all great. Heart, kidneys, brain everything prefect as should be at this stage. So next the big 20w one. So happy considering I'm 38 and hubby 40. A weight has been lifted.

I would be having the amnio if it comes back as really high risk. My specialist is one of the best in Australia and in 30yrs he has never had a m/c due to an amnio. He is the God of fertility here. But I pray all is great and I we don't need to make any decisions. X

Congrats on reaching your second trimester! Try not to forget that these scans are just "tests" and that no matter what they find, they can still be wrong. Also, you cannot be forced into having an amniocentesis, that test carries a risk of miscarriage because of piercing the amniotic sac and personally freaks me out. Ask yourself, even if this test "finds" something, would it affect whether or not you continued with your pregnancy? I've heard stories of women who have had doctors find something "wrong" with their scans and said they baby had down's or other issues, and been born perfectly healthy. I'm sure everything will be fine; as you know, I was nervous after my scan too. Thinking of you! :)
