Q: HcG level questions

Hello dear mommies,

I just got my HCG levels from the lab. The test was done at 4wks 3 days and came back with a 6417mIU/mL. Does that seem high?

What were your HCG levels at 4 weeks? I would be thrilled if it was twins, but would prefer a singleton as I am a very small person and this is my first pregnancy.

Yes, twins run in my family so that is the main reason I considered the possibility. I still have 9 days until my appointment so I'm trying to be patient and just wait and see.

Hi and congrats on your new pregnancy! I am expecting twins and my levels still were no where near that high!! At 3w6d I was 147 and at 4w1d I was 346. I thought my levels were high, I also had a BFP at only 8DPO. I was very worried about twins and knew it was possible due to fertility treatments, I found out at an 8w ultrasound that In fact there were 2. I also notice my symptoms were SO much worse than with previous pregnancies, so that led me to believe too. I will say I did TONS of reading about high levels online and there was nothing consistent. Some women can have very high levels with only 1 and others are just the opposite. Some sites said high levels can point to girl genders as well, but noting was affirmative. Good luck and keep us posted as to what you find!!!

I am 4 weeks today and should be getting my levels back this afternoon. She said that I would reach 10,000 around Halloween.

Do twins run in your family?

These levels are pretty high, mine were high also and my progesterone levels extremely high and I'm only having one, your HCG levels are higher than mine though. My OB thought I might of been having twins but I was on clomid with 2 massive follicles at ovulation. I was monitored but nope only one which I was very happy about. The only thing that will give u your answer is an ultrasound so it's a waiting games. Some people just have really high HCG levels even with one bub. Congrats and GL ;-)
