Q: Preventing sore nipples

With my son I found out the agony that is sore nipples and breastfeeding.
I was wondering if I started using lanolin nipple cream now would it help/prevent the sore nipples when I come to breastfeeding again?
Tried googling but i didn't come up with anything.

Thank you ladies x

I know exactly what you mean about that agony. When I had my twins the areola and nipple on one side split wide open, it was so incredibly painful and was caused by all the pumping I was trying to do on top of nursing. I'm sure using the nipple cream now wouldn't hurt but I doubt if it prevents soreness. I'd say making sure your baby is in the right position and has a good deep latch will be your best defense against soreness. That's what I'm going to work on myself. Happy breastfeeding Hun!
