Q: Baby's heartbeat and gender guessing.

My baby's heartbeat was at 152 yesterday at my prenatal appointment. My husband says it's a boy since our 1st sons was 153. Does the heartbeat mean I'm having a boy or are girl's heartbeat's sometimes around that number?

I have a lot of HB's as weekly scan due to high risk first trimester: We found out at 12 weeks 60-70% a girl the nub was very very clear and flat it was also at 11w. Still could change though. Will confirm at 20w.

Thea had 169bpm at 10wks and 150 at 12wks. We found out at 20wks that we were having a little girl.
All the genetic odds pointed to a boy but all the old wives tale pointed to a girl. Guess this time the wives tales were right.

My girl's heartbeat has been in the 140s and 150s the entire pregnancy. The saying around the area where I live is that a heartrate in that range is a boy and 160s 170s is a girl... but I've talked to people in other places where they say the exact opposite lol.

I found out at 18 weeks they did my anatomy scan (which apparently is a little early??) and I'm now 35 weeks so I'm hoping nothing's changed in that time lol!

I'm 19 weeks along today and have an ultrasound in a 2 weeks. Was hoping for a girl, but will be happy with a boy :0) Just wondering when other ladies found out what gender their baby was what was the heart rate?

I thought the old wives tale was that if it was under 140, it was a boy. Over 140 = a girl. BUT I think this method is pretty inaccurate... heart rate depends on a lot of factors (such as if they are being active or if they are sleepy, how far along you are as the heart rate tends to decrease after the first few weeks...).

I think the only way to be sure is to have an ultrasound. :)
