Q: Has anyone gone through pregnancy after a full tummy tuck with muscle repair? Complications?

I'm 39 and I'm 10 yrs post Tummy tuck, and I have gained about 30lbs since then over the years, but my stomach is still pretty tight and flat (or was until a couple of weeks ago). If there were permanent sutures done for the muscle repair, will my stomach still stretch out to accommodate a pregnancy or will those sutures have to bust? I'm at 7 wks now, and have been very crampy/sore pretty much for the last three weeks. Muscle sore, not uterus sore, and my abdomen is pretty hard and tight already. I'm concerned about those stitches going forward. Anyone have problems post-tummy tuck?

Turns out I am having a few issues. Stomach muscles are very tight and baby is pressing on my vena cava, making me faint and my BP plummet. I'm 22 wks now and hopefully I'll stretch out more and won't have to deal with more complications.

Hey calvin- yes! I've been through it, lol. I had a tummy tuck with sutures in 2003 and then landed pregnant in 2008 and gave birth in 2009 at 39 wks. I found that I never really showed, never bought maternity clothes and stayed pretty comfy throughout the pregnancy. My abdomen held up through it all and I was shocked to deliver a 8lb8oz baby!! No one would've guessed that he was so big considering nothing ever indicated such. I lost weight through the pregnancy, even though I ate up a storm. We were doing routine ultrasounds to check his growth and he was always on track.
This time around, I'm expecting twins and I'm sure the tummy will give eventually!! I'm 15 wks now and look about how I did at 39 wks before, lol.
Best of luck to you and I'm sure it will be ok!!
