Q: Photographer at birth?

Will you have a photographer at your birth?

I have a really dear friend who just happens to be our family photographer and I have asked her to take birth pictures for us! I have seen a lot on Pinterest and they are adorable.

I just had my daughter in August and my doula is also a photographer. I was unsure about pictures, but told her to go ahead anyway, since I only get once chance at photographing the birth. I am SOOOO glad I did because the pictures are priceless. A lot of the pictures will be for only my eyes, but I cherish them. Seeing the exact moment my daughter entered this world is beautiful beyond words. If you are even considering it, I'd go for it. There will be a lot of pictures and you can keep them private, but you only get one chance at photographing your birth. Better to do it and not regret not doing it. I hope your birth is amazing and everything you are wishing for!

Wouldn't it just be the cutest thing, chronicling the event as it happens.
I would love to have a photographer at the birth too but like cosmoholic said, the fear of looking so huge and sweaty is making me reconsider it. It is also my first so I have no idea how i would look or how it will go.
If i end up looking terrible, I wouldn't wanna see the pictures afterwards, lol

I thinking about it but haven't booked anything yet. I love looking at other people's birth photography sessions - I'm just kind of worried that I'll end up looking like a sweaty, disgusting whale by the end of the pregnancy and will just end up with a lot of pictures of me looking pained or screaming. (I've never done this before so am not sure what labour will be like... just kind of terrified at this point lol).
