Q: Had a bleeding scare tonight. Has this happened to anyone else?

I had a scare tonight after I woke up from a nap I went to the bathroom to have a pee and a bowl movement but I had to strain a bit during the BM then when I wiped after the pee there was quite a bit like light flow of bright pink blood that was only there when I wiped tho anyway I freaked out because I only have 2 living children then had 5 miscarriages with my first one being at 18 weeks in April of 2013 so I went to emergency and baby still has heart beat and was moving around so everything looks normal.. This happen to anyone else? Think it may have been caused by the BM? ... Doctors wernt very helpful they didn't check my cervix or anything but have a appointment Tuesday so hopefully my family doctor can do more for me.

This happened to me at 8 weeks and again at 11 weeks. At 8 weeks, I was scared and went in to see my midwife. She looked at my cervix and said because of extra estrogen, it can get sensitive and that it was bleeding a little. Not coming from inside the uterus and nothing to worry about at all. Good luck!

Thank you, luckily the bleeding stopped about 30 seconds after it started so think everything will be okay and was just from straining too much but will follow up with my doctor at my appointment tomorrow :)

Sorry - hit the enter button by accident!
I haven't had an answer yet but the bleeding has slowed to nothing but pinky tinged now. I'm an ER nurse and putting myself in a patient's situation and using my own knowledge (rather than being the crazy paranoid pregnant lady that I am lol) I would say if the bleeding doesn't get heavy with clots and awful bad cramps then there's generally nothing to worry about. I've heard many women have this happen and it being due to an irritable cervix. Most people go to recommend a followup the next day with OB or GP and to try and soften stools with fluids, fruits, or some Colace.
Good luck! I'm sure we will both be okay :)
