Q: not understanding why my due date was changed in the beginning ??

in the beginning my due date was january 26th 2015 my last period was on april 21st 2014 which would be spot on for the due date. after i had my very first ultrasound he changed it to FEB. 5th 2015 which would have made me have my lmp on april 30th. iam 29 weeks today and aim having a boy i feel that 9 extra days is a big deal to me aim known to have boys who are big to me compared to y 6 pound 12 ounce daughter. should i try to bring it up to my doctor and share my concerns or keep it to myself. my next apt is monday the 24th and he is scheduling me for an ultrasound to see how big the baby is.

As many have already covered; it's all about the dating scan. My periods were very regular (as in I had them scheduled on my calendar - not an exaggeration), but based off of the scan they pegged me for being a whopping TWO days further along than I originally guessed. Whoop-tee-doo.

This happened to me. They prefer to go off the dating ultrasound as they feel this is the most reliable way of telling how far along you are. Especially if your periods are irregular. It pushed my due date a week back too. But I think they are totally wrong.

Ultrasound dating is really only good to +-10 days. I wouldn't worry about the baby's size unless it is really really big. The baby will come when the baby is ready regardless of what you or your doc think the due date should be. A baby being 1 week early or late is not at all unusual.

They use the measurements from the gestational sac and baby to give an estimated due date. You could have ovulated later than you thought, which would push your due date.
