I started a vaginal suppository right after retrival and was on it until I was 10 weeks. at my 10 week scan everything looks great. I will be 12 weeks tomorrow and so far so good.
I've had 2 previous miscarriages. I will pray that your baby is healthy.

My RE puts everyone on progesterone after their IUI/IVF just in case (until 12 weeks pregnant). Progesterone levels can vary wildly throughout the day, so even if you are tested for it (blood test), you could be low at other times of the day. The RE thinks better safe than sorry and more progesterone won't hurt anything. I didn't have progesterone issues, but used it until 12 weeks anyway. I have a friend that had 3 early miscarriages and her OB doc put her on progesterone supplements and she now has 3 kids. It won't prevent miscarriage in all cases, but it does help many women and it doesn't hurt even if you don't need it, so I'd take it just in case. It is kind of gross though, so be prepared for the eww factor.

Last year I had 3 miscarriages all before 6 weeks and I was on progesterone every time. This pregnancy I used double the progesterone that most women need, both intramuscular injections and vaginal suppositories, daily blood thinning shots of lovenox, baby aspirin, corticosteroids until 8 weeks and I also did a full month of antibiotics before conceiving. Something did the trick because I am now 9 1/2 weeks, the furthest I have ever made it. I am still caustiously optimistic though after all my losses, can't wait to make it to the 2nd trimester.

I had three miscarriages within a year, I was put on progesterone and had a series of blood tests done when the next pregnancy occurred, turns out I have a clotting condition called factor five Liden which also contributes to multiple miscarriages. You may want to get checked for that to rule it out. After proper medications we now have a sweet 12 day old baby boy :)

Four years ago I had my first miscarriage and ended up pregnant on my next cycle. I had low progesterone so my doc put me on it until the end of the first trimester. I had a successful healthy pregnancy, and my DS is now four. I'm six weeks along now and my progesterone has been checked three times and the levels are good. That doesn't stop me from worrying about it though. Good luck to you and try to remain positive.
