Q: is it safe to have an Orgasim (23 weeks pregnant.)

OKay so I know sex is perfectly fine during a normal pregnancy, but when I have an orgasim, its like the baby gets pushed down very low into a hard ball and my belly becomes misshapen. I just don't want to hurt the baby, is there any medical reasoning to why it is or is not safe for this to happen? maybe a website with info on this matter. I tried looking it up, i'm not finding anything. It really concerns me. I have two other children and it also happened while pregnant with them, and it worried me then too... just too shy or embarrassed to ask my doctor. :/ thanks ya'll.

okay wow thanks ya'll. i feel a lot better now. I have had two MC's this year and every little thing frightens me. I wont even walk too fast or bend over too low. I have two kids from a previous relationship, but my husbands has none of his own, so i'm really trying to make this happen for him and for us. My next appointment is the day after tomorrow (the dreaded glucose test) and ill have a pelvic exam as well. not looking forward to it but ill be sure to talk to her about my concerns. again, thanks guys!

Yes orgasms are safe. (Unless doc has said no sex.) And I say the more the better!! The second trimester has made me need an orgasm-a-day. Yes, they cause Braxton Hicks contractions, but nothing to worry about. I'd ask your doc just to be sure if you are concerned and certainly stop if you get any cramping or bleeding (or painful contractions, but your uterus contracting won't hurt the baby.

Since sex during pregnancy is safe unless you are at risk for preterm labor orgasms are probably safe as well. Orgasms will cause the uterus to contract but it usually won't trigger labor, though nipple stimulation can. If you are nervous about it ask your doctor, even if you are embarrassed. They have heard it all before I'm sure! I've asked my doctor so much and I'm on baby #2. Personally I suck up my embarrassment because I know it is what is best for my baby. Doctors are there to treat you not to judge you.

I'm pretty sure it's just cuz your uterus is contracting during orgasm, that's just what happens. Happens to me too. I can always feel where baby is pretty good when that happens, I can feel their shape and have a pretty good idea how they're lying in there, which is kind of cool. It would be super great if mine would get out of transverse position(side to side)! (S)he has been like that for a long time. Bet everything is fine:)
