Q: 36 weeks and pelvic pain.

This is my first pregnancy. I was 36 weeks on Friday. I also have had a terrible cold virus the last week :( In the last couple days I've had some 'stop me in my tracks' pelvic pain that comes and goes for maybe 20-30 minutes tops. A couple random pains also. Don't seem to be with my Braxton-Hicks contractions. Are these signs he's finally dropping? He has been head down almost the entire pregnancy (and is currently). Everyone says I'm carrying so high and my bump looks very small in person. Any worries, or just signs he's getting ready?

Its probably a sign that your pelvis is widening and you could be experiencing pelvic girdle pain which can be very painful towards the end of pregnancy.
There are sites on Google that have some great exercises to help ease the pain.
Babies can drop on and off of the cervix at this stage but normally that's only a heavy pressure with stabby twinges in your cervix.
