Q: Not hungry or thirsty after D&C

Had a D&C on Christmas Eve after I started miscarrying on my own at 7 weeks. I decided I needed help because I just couldn't handle the pain at home. Now I have severe nausea and I can't eat or drink anything, just thinking about it makes me want to vomit. I don't have a temperature but I have been feeling hot and sweaty and sleeping all the time. Has anyone else not wanted to eat or drink afterwards. I'm thinking maybe it's just my sadness but I can't not eat.

I also lost a baby at about 7 weeks. I went to the hospital due to bleeding and they told me there was no heartbeat, i had to wait a few hours to have the D and c done because they couldnt do it yet because i had just ate and after about an hour of them telling me, i started to vomit, and felt very sick. But i know why i was sick. my emotions were high and i was depressed. Iv'e actually lost 2 babies this year, only one d and c tho. i know some people who picked up nausea after giving birth to their babies. could just be hormonal side effects, or a bit of depression. or some of each. losing a baby is hard. but it will happen for you. like i said i lost 2 this year yet here I am 28 weeks pregnant today. I'm sorry for your loss. :(

Hi firstly I'm really sorry for your loss. I have had 3 d&c's in 12mths. The first was the hardest for me I was just under 10 weeks. I was very sick afterwards not eating and not feeling great. Then I got very ill and rushed back into hospital by ambulance as I had massive bleeding and blood clots after the first d&c. So about a week later this all happened. I was okay but there was retained product. I then had to have the hysteroscopy d&c more invasive. After I recovered form all of this the next d&c was very smooth and I conceived again and healed within 3 weeks. I think it is very normal to feel not hungry, depressed etc. I am sure you will have a successful pregnancy very soon. Please know you are not alone with an angel baby. I have 4 so if you ever need someone to talk to there is a lot of support on here with woman who have shared your sorrow and loss. Once again I am very sorry for you, it is gut wrenching stuff to go though and experience. Please take care of

Thankyou for sharing with me. I think it might just be hormones and emotions. We had our dating scan on the 18th and saw baby's heartbeat, then I had a bleed on the 19th, saw baby's heartbeat again on the 20th and they had grown as well and then the 22nd baby was gone. I think it has been harder because we saw the heartbeat and baby even grew in those couple of days.
