Q: Can a fetal Doppler pick up the baby's hb but can't hear it?

I'm currently 9 wks 2d pregnant and i purchased a fetal Doppler. i got it 2 days ago and have yet to detect a hb until yesterday (i think) the Doppler picked up a heart rate of 150 it stayed on display for about 5 minutes then went away i assumed it was the baby's hb since that's the 1st time since i got it that it picked up a hb that fast and lasted problem is i couldn't actually hear the hb but a faint hb in the background that i couldn't tell was baby's or not. is it possible the Doppler could have picked up the hb but still too early to actually hear it? I know what rate my hb is and the rate of the placenta so i doubt that's what was picked up by Doppler anyone experience this before?

It's too early to be using a Doppler all it's going to do it stress you out. Some woman can get lucky and pick it up at 9 weeks or so but it's difficult. They are designed to be used after 12 weeks.

It is possible, but you should be able to hear it if it is the baby's HB it is picking up. The HB sounds like galloping horses. I was able to pick up and hear baby's HB around 10 weeks with my sonoline B doppler. I had to put the doppler down below my pubic bone and press hard to be able to pick it up.
