Q: How often do you use your fetal doppler?

Just wondering how often everyone uses their fetal dopplers?

I love mine and use it every couple days, Dax is usually more active in the evening than in the mornings.

It was cute, I used it the other night before bed and my husband was in the living room... he heard it turn on and ran in to the room quicker than I have ever seen him run before. It was so cute how excited he was to hear the heartbeat with me.

I use mine every day, sometimes twice a day for a couple of minutes. Usually when I find the heart beat, baby kicks and goes away from the probe. :)

I use mine about 2 twice a week and less after the baby is moving around and I can feel it consistently. There is always the worry that too much could be in someway harmful so I try to balance my need to reassurance with my babies safety and feel that 2-3 times a week is the max I am comfortable with and I also try to stick to max of 5 minutes at a time and set a timer on my phone so I don't unknowingly get carried away. best of luck to everyone!!

My last pregnancy I swear I used it like every day! LOL! At least once a week. I asked the doctor if it was OK and he said that it was totally fine, said to think of it like sonar bouncing off the bottom of the ocean. It's just reflecting noise, and not hurting the baby. However, he said it may be a little annoying to the baby at times so that's when I went to about every week or every other week until he started moving all the time, and then I stopped. :)

As my guy got bigger he would kick the Doppler andobe away, I really think he hated it! Bit o would ckeck everyday at the start for only a min or so, never long. Once I could feel him kick I didn't use it anymore

There were a few short periods of time towards the end of the first trimester when I had some spotting that I was using mine everyday, sometimes twice a day. Now I use it about 2-3 times a week. I am feeling movement but not everyday consistently yet. I think once I start feeling her everyday I won't use it unless she suddenly is less active. Then I will probably rely more on kick counts anyways. My dh likes to listen too but unless I tell him "that's baby!" he has no idea what he is listening for lol. I can definitely tell baby doesn't like it because she will move away from it and sometimes I have to chase her down to get an average bpm.

In the first trimester I used it about twice a week from 11 weeks until 20 weeks now that the baby moves 24-7 I don't use it.

I was told by the mid-wife and OB specialist to not use it often as the babies don't like the shock wave sounds going through to them and there are documented studies to coberate this, that it's not good for them. However I realise woman on here use them everyday. So it's your choice of course.

I use mine every couple of days on occasion i would use it everyday for about 5-10 mins. as long as your Doppler is FDA approved for home use you can use it as often as you like but they do recommend to not use it longer than 10 mins at a time they recommend if u can't find the hb after 10 mins to put it away and try again the following day bc its still unclear how Dopplers effect the baby its reassuring and cute to hear baby's hb for yourself I'm actually a bit obsessive over it but i try not to be my little one is at the stage where he/she can bounce around from one spot to another but i can't feel it yet the only way i know he's moving is i hear it on the Doppler i would pick up his hb in one spot hear movement the hb fades out and i have to relocate him in a totally different spot its fun to hear
