I'm currently 11 wks 5 days pregnant and I've been having back pain ever since i was 5 wks pregnant its mainly in the middle of my back just below my shoulder blades. my breasts haven't gotten any bigger so i know its not bc of my breasts I've never had any problems with my back before getting pregnant with my 2nd and even with my 1st pregnancy i didn't have back parents like I'm having now i have to take 4 tyenols just to make it through the day and even that isn't working. what Could it be? What's causing my back pain?

is this your first pregnancy? this is my 2nd and i had REALLY bad back pain very early one. (6+wks). i still get it occasionally, but definitely not NEARLY as bad as it was in the first trimester. i found out at my 12wk ultrasound that i have a TIPPED/RETROVERTED UTERUS! yay! not. dunno the science as to why, but this can cause back pain in pregnancy. and it increases your odds of having back labour. which im totally ok with. anyway, reason why im asking if this is your first pregnancy is because often times a tipped uterus is caused by-go figure- having a baby. which would likely be how i ended up with mine -_- good news is, as baby grows, the uterus should right itself, alleviating some back pain.

try bengay or voltaren emulgel. check with your doc if concerned, but i use regular strength bengay on my back when it hurts. helps instantly. you can also try heating pads or a hot water bottle.

It could just be all of your insides moving around to make room for the baby... I noticed my back pain when I noticed ligament stretching in my lower abdomen.
