I have type 1 diabetes, so basically I also have gestational diabetes that just wont ever go away! But I have had quite a bit of light headedness and dizziness. I even ended up in the ER once for dehydration. My best suggestion is drink A TON of water. Having more elevated blood sugars than normal can dehydrate you which can make you very dizzy! I have had diabetes since I was 14, so if you have ANY questions or concerns you can message me and i'd be happy to answer. It is scary but very manageable! I test my blood sugars 12-15 times a day (im a little bit obsessive about it). As far as I know with due date, if you have GD your baby's tend to be larger so you will most likely deliver a little earlier. Again, let me know if you have any questions!

Thank you so much stickybean1976. Its good to know i have someone to talk to. Ya i know i found it a bit strange that they weren't concerned. Iv a hospital app on monday so hopefully I'll find out more then. At my 22 week scan they were concerned about the size of my LO . They said he was 1 pound 8 ounces. To me that didnt sound to heavy but maybe it is. Hope all is going well for you Xx

Okay I have GD. Firstly you should be referred to a diabeties dietician. They will go through all you meal plans and completely change your diet and food in take. They'll give you a kit you will need to prick yourself 4x a day and keep a journal to record all food/meals & readings.
If it can't be managed by diet. They may have to move you to injections or tablets.
Risks to you if untreated at risk for developing type 2 diabeties later in life.
Risks to the baby blowing up, becoming relient on high sugar levels, hypertensive at birth and serval more things "have a google"
You should be having scans every 2 weeks to monitor the size of the baby and it is common to be induced at 38 weeks due to the babies size and the placenta starts to deteriate towards the end also.
I don't know why you say the ER wasn't concerned. This must be monitored for yours and the babies safety. Best of luck I'm here if you need me. PS it sucks I know, but it's only while your pregnant. Xx
