I've had the same thing happening to me since I was 35 weeks And it is just pieces of the mucus plug. I'm 36 weeks along now. I've read also that the mucus plug regenerates if your baby is not ready to come. Good luck & hope it's nothing to be alarmed about for you.

This same exact thing happened to me the day I was 34 weeks. I called my OB because same as you, I didn't lose mine with my first until I was in active labor. They said as long as there is no excessive blood that I shouldn't worry. It will regenerate if your body isn't ready to give birth. I didn't lose any noticeable amount until 37 weeks and now I am still pregnant at 39 weeks 2 days. If you are concerned call your doctor or midwife, but in my experience it's just your cervix getting prepared.
