Q: Braxton hicks?

When can Braxton hicks start? I am just barely 20 weeks and I'm sure I overdid it the last few days because we are moving, but last night my belly hurt so bad. I could barely stand up straight and the pain was radiating through my stomach and back and it was coming and going in waves. I would feel ok for a few mins and then it would hit, then go away and come back. Is it too soon for Braxton hicks? Did I just push myself too hard. I have been following the 20 pound limit my dr set for me, but with moving I was bending and picking up boxes a lot. Any thoughts?

Braxton hicks can start as early as 16 weeks, depending on the pregnancy. However, they shouldn't feel painful. Braxton hicks should just feel mildy uncomfortable but not to the point you are in so much pain..

I was getting them sometime between 18-20weeks. Mine were quite painful but as soon as I sat down for a bit and drank some water they started going away. If the pains are getting worse you need to get checked out

I have been having them already and I asked my Dr about it at my 20 week appt the other day and he said its ok. He said to rest and stay hydrated but if they start becoming really painful or start to follow a pattern then I need to come get checked.
