Q: Need reassurance

I'm 40+2 today and I've been in "early" labor since Wed. So about 4-5 days now. I'm having mild off and on cramping and I've been loosing my mucus plug since Friday (my due date) but haven't had a bloody show. We (doc and I and DH) are sure of due date because I was tracking EVERYTHING since we've been trying for 3 years and also because of dating scans and ultrasounds. I had an ultrasound on Friday and fluid is good, baby is practicing breathing, and placenta looks good but I still so nervous. I'm having good days and bad days since Wed. And today is looking like a bad day. I worry SO much about the baby. I worry that since I going overdue my placenta will stop working and the baby will die before he can be born. He is healthy now and I just want to have him! My next appointment is Thursday and what if something happens before then? The baby is moving but what I he stops? By the. Isn't it too late? I SO stressed by this! I need reassurance this is normal.

My first baby was born at 41+3 and she was perfect. I was induced with this one at 38+6 for medical reason. I'm sure they'll make a plan to induce you by your next appt if nothing happens. I had a bloody show and lost my plug at 38 w and had 2 stretch and sweeps done and she still didn't come. They'll come when they're ready and if you under 42 weeks it's still deemed safe. Your little lad is just to compfy in the home your've made him. Don't be scared any day now. Xx
