I was 1cm dialted one week before my due date and I had my "show" the day before I was due. Went into active labour that evening. I was in labour for 3 days then had the baby so I ended up having her 2 days past my due date. There's still hope for you to be on time!

I had 2 or 3 with my first son. They strap you up to a monitor, it'll check the baby like previous poster said. They can also see if you're having any contractions (I was but couldn't feel them, so they weren't doing anything to move me along) They put the tv on for us, but yes can take awhile, take something interesting to read or just get some much needed rest. It won't be long now! :-) Best Wishes!

im not too sure if im correct but i think its what i had last week where they put a monitor on your tummy to monitor the babies heartbeat and movements, it took 40 mins for me but some can be 2-3 hours. I wasnt allowed use my phone as it can interfer with the monitor so maybe bring a magazine, bottle water or ipod? good luck hope you have your baby soon xx
