Q: Heavy bleeding after sex

Right after my so and i had sex, i rolled out of bed to go to the bathroom and have a few small clots and fairly heavy bleeding. I have had problems with bleeding after sex for a while even without pregnancy, but what i really want to know is if this amount is bad after sex. I never bled this bad. I know i need to call doctor, but im only 6 weeks and can't even go in until tomorrow anyways. So they will probably have me wait it out a little. Just looking for people with similar problems and the outcome.

Thanks ladies! Baby is doing pretty good right now. Had a heart rate of 128bpm but i have a subchorionic hemorrhage that's pretty small. Was diagnosed with threatened miscarriage of course. Just glad all that blood and clots was not my baby, and they actually knew whyi could be bleeding. The heart beat was so strong we didn't even have to do a transvaginal ultrasound to see, the tech was pleasantly surprised.

I had heavy bleeding throughout my first trimester starting around 5 weeks. So I personally know how stressful it can be to see a lot of dark red blood/clots. Mine turned out to be harmless to the baby as it was all coming from my cervix. My cervix was bleeding from the slightest pressure and then the vessels would clot over until a new bleed would happen. My OB said that my cervix was covered with little areas of clotted blood/scabs. (gross right?)

When I called my doctor that early on they had me get blood work done again to make sure my HCG was rising. Not all bleeding is bad! However, I don't think that my condition was the most common occurrence, so at 6 weeks I would definitely call your doctor like you plan and let them know so they can evaluate/monitor your personal situation. They should at least run your HCG level to alleviate your fears or give you answers.

I know it is near impossible, but try not to worry.

Could go either way. You'll have to have faith and wait for HCG's or early ultrasound to be done. Best of luck. Clots and heavy bleeding is not usually the best but there could be other reasons for the bleeding not sure about the cloting though. I've had 4 miscarrages so wishing you the best outcome x
