Q: I'm pregnant with my forth child and i wanted to try cloth diapers . Is it worth the try?

I just potty trained my toddler and with four kids i thought it would be a good idea to save some money.

Thanks ladies for your replies. I've been doing some research and even dreamed about cloth diapers the last two nights. I think im going to give it a try. I'm kind of scared because of the initial investment and the cleaning but i don't want to waste more money on diapers. Thanks again.

Oh my goodness! I am all about cloth diapers! I love going to the store and saying, look we don't have to buy diapers! But seriously, it is so worth it, both of mine have used cloth diapers, and I have never had to deal with diaper rash. Plus my oldest potty trained at around 2! I Think the cloth diapers really helped her. Please feel free to ask me any questions. I could talk about them all day! lol.

We love our cloth diapers! We started them when our first son was 2 months old and our three-day old started wearing them yesterday! We find they work better than disposables (blow-outs are pretty rare!) and once you've figured our the fit/absorbency that works for you, they're plain amazing. The only down side I can see is the added laundry loads and folding time, and that's a reason it will not work for some people. However, I still think cloth is worth a try, especially as you can get them used to begin with to try out, and you can sell them if it turns out they're not for you!

Personally I hate them and the washing is a pain and I find they leek. I had a bad experience with them. But I know others swear by them. If you already have a big family. The soacking spaying cleaning & washing may get to as a timing and convience issue. Good luck I'm sure you'll get loads of positive comments just not from me. Sorry :-)

I think this is a great question! I can't wait to see other peoples responses!
I can't speak from personal experience, but my sis in law tried cloth diapers with her 2nd. She did like them at first, but after a while she said she got tired of all the laundry, AND she swears no matter how tight she would make them, they always leaked poop and pee whenever Andi went, all over the house. (I'm not sure if that is a normal problem or just hers) She eventually went back to disposable, and told me I could have the cloth diapers if i wanted them, but after her stories, Hubby and I have decided to just stick with disposables. Our personal choice, but I cheer on moms who use cloth diapers!
