Q: This is nuts!!!!! Labor or maybe soon????

okay so last Friday my doctor checked me and I was at 1cm and 50% thinned out but cervix was pushed towards my back and up! Anyways Saturday I was cramping so went to l&d and still a 1 but cervix was closer towards where it should be! Since then my hips hurt so bad I cannot get comfy to sleep at all! I have had contractions on and off tons of discharge ,lower back pain, and no appetite I have to force myself to eat. Now today I have had diarrhea all day and my vagina feels swollen. Still cramping and lower back pain. I've never gone into labor natural so this is all new to me! Am I crazy or should I go to labor and delivery to see if I have dialated more?

With my 2nd, who was 10 days late, I walked around with irregular contractions and at 3-5cm for over a week. After my second non-stress test the contractions were frequent enough that they sent me to L&D to have my water broke. My daughter was born 2 hours later.

Call your doc if you are concerned. It really does just sound like your body is getting ready for labor. It could be soon - or days away. But it will happen!

You'll know when your in labour trust me and then you'll be saying yep what I was feeling didn't even come close. Unless your contractions are close together and intense there's no need for L&D. Good luck

Probably wouldn't hurt to call L&D again with your new symptoms, but unless you are having regular contractions, or your water broke, staying at home is usually best. However, I'm not a medical professional. Do what you feel is right.
