Q: Other mamas that have been told their baby has SAU (single artery umbilical cord)?

I went in for my anatomy scan last week at (what we thought 18 weeks 5 days) We found out that we are having a girl and she was diagnosed with SAU. I was wondering if any of you other mamas are going through the same thing? Her heart and organs all looked great from what the doctor said, we go back for an echo scan in a couple of weeks. Any advice ladies?

My son had that!! My Dr said its not uncommon, and we kept an eye on him. You will have extra ultrasounds now (yay) Its been 7 years, so I can't remember everything exactly, but I was told to drink plenty of water and just go easy if I wanted to walk or exercise.
The only problem we encountered was his kidneys retained urine. My Dr said it could be a few things, and he may need surgery when he was born but she had confidence it would clear up at birth, and it did! They did an ultrasound on his little tummy at 2 days old, and everything was perfectly healthy!
I guess there can be some problems, but we were lucky and everything was fine!
