Q: 31 weeks and 4 days pregnant

I posted a question a couple days ago about me being in the hospital at 30 weeks pregnant having contractions every 2 minutes. They gave me terbutaline and sent me home. Well today I noticed I'm losing my mucus plug I went back to the hospital as per request of my dr only for them to tell me "yeah your uterus is irritated but your urine looks great so we're sending you home" my stomach is still very crampy. Btw the ffn test was negative and my cervix so far hasn't changed from 1 cm and 30%. Should I be concerned about all of this?

Mostly, there's no problem with a slight dilation (1cm, 30%) around now for pregnancy. Also the loss of a bit of mucous plug is normal. If you're incredibly concerned, talk with your doctor/provider and they should be able to reassure you. The cramping could just be some tighter Braxton Hicks, I'd try different things (especially drinking fluids) to see if they calm at all. The frequency and duration of these cramps/contractions is more important and I'd keep a close watch.

At the end of the day, paying attention to what your body and Baby are telling you are very important, but not to be focused on such that your worry/concern/anxiety makes it worse. Hope that makes sense.

Nonetheless, here's to Baby staying put for 8 more weeks at least! :)

I am not sure of what that all means especially at 30 weeks. Make sure that they check with an ultrasound. Not to scare you because my last pregnancy was different than most, But at 30 weeks I started having contractions and it was because I was sick a week earlier and I didn't drink as much fluid as I should have. I knew I was dehydrated so I drank up to 2 liters + of water and fluid and the contractions stopped the next day. Keep prying for answers. I don't want to scare you but because I wasn't persistent and didn't push to get an ultrasound then, I could have caught the fact there was an issue with the placenta.

It's completely normal to lose parts of your mucous plug and it isn't a definite sign of labor. You can lose pieces of it weeks before actual labor. I would suggest calling your doctor and discussing your concerns with them. That may help put you at ease. In my opinion, it's better to be safe and ask/go in, than not go in and stress about it. It's your baby and body and you know if something isn't right. I wish you the best of luck and that baby stays for a few more weeks!
