Q: Anyone else measure a few days behind early on?

We had our first ultrasound today at 5w1d. Nothing was seen but the gestational sack, which I figured might be the case, but I was hopeful for at least a yolk sack. The gs only measured 4w5d though, which worried me. After 2 miscarriages I'm paranoid! They didn't run labs today, so no clue what HCG is. I do have another ultrasound next Monday to check for a heartbeat as they want to see that before starting the Lovenox injections for my MTHFR, although it seems it will still be too early to tell to me. Did anyone else measure small according to LMP and have a normal pregnancy? Or did anyone see a hb at 5w6d?

My Dr had me stay on Lovenox till 34 or 36 weeks with my son. I almost wish I could have stopped them sooner but I had SCH with him that didn't clear up till about 16 weeks. My other 2 losses were at 9w due a huge SCH that was bigger then the gestational sack, and at 6 weeks deemed a blighted ovum as no yolk sack or fetal pole formed. I'm praying they at least see a yolk sack and fetal pole next Monday.

I measured 8 weeks 6 days when I was 9w2d. Dr didn't think it a big enough deal to change my due date so I thinks its probably normal.

I had to really push my doctor for early, aggressive treatment, even after 3 losses all between 4-6 weeks along. I almost had to tell them, instead of ask, that I wanted to be on baby aspirin, lovenox, steroids and a triple dose of progesterone through the first trimester. And then I also had to push to stay on lovenox through the whole pregnancy. Most doctors are very reluctant to acknowledge and treat clotting and immune issues for some reason. I'm glad I pushed hard for it because if they had waited til 6weeks this pregnancy may not have made it either.

A few days is no big deal =) I measured 2 days behind according to LMP, which matched up with my BBT chart as to when I ovulated =)

That is what I thought too. They started me on Lovenox early, at about 5w with my sons pregnancy. I have no clue why she is holding off this time. My only guess is my past history of miscarriages and she doesn't want to start me on blood thinners if I need another D&C. That's all I can think of. I did start the baby aspirin as soon as I found out, and luckily on the ultrasound we didn't see (or should I say, *i* didn't see) and SCHs, so I guess so far it's ok. The nurse said everything looked normal, just to come back in a week. I am a little frustrated with their lack of attention on this pregnancy. Last one they were fabulous knowing I'm high risk and crazy. This one they seem pretty lax, but I love the doctor, so I'll deal I guess. My symptoms are so off and on, but mostly off right now. Maybe this one will be another loss. Time will tell. I hate being so negative! Gah!

I was told that being 3-4 days behind or ahead is very normal early on because they are measuring something that is literally only millimeters. So when the tech measures it's hard to be exact and if they are off a smidge the difference it makes in the gestational age estimate could be huge. I saw the hb at 6w4d so hopefully next week you will see it! Why do you have to wait so long to start lovenox? I started lovenox right away before I even had a bfp (I did an ivf embryo transfer though). Wouldn't you want to start as soon as you get a bfp? Even early on lovenox is very important if you have clotting issues so that the embryo and the very early placenta get sufficient blood supply to thrive.

My last pregnancy measured 9 days behind and I gave birth to my youngest son at 39 weeks exactly. You're only a few days behind your lmp, so you could have O'd later than you thought or implanted later. Best of luck to you at your next appointment!
