Q: Pain in my groin. Pubic bone pain?

For over a week now, I've had pain in my vaginal area but it's the bone nothing external. Feels like the bone anyways. I can't be sure. I'm finding I have to lean on things to walk and if I do too much I'm in serious pain. Mornings I'm at my best, evening/night is the hardest. Today while vacuuming I really hurt myself and can hardly walk. Had to call my parents over to help with my toddler. Anyone else have this? I didn't have this first time around. I'm 36 weeks on Tuesday.

I dealt with this, I was diagnosed with Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction, I remember each time I would sleep I could feel my pelvic bone going out of place it didnt help that my son was head down. It sounds like that may be what you have. The doctor suggested for me to get a stomach support band and to continue walking and do back strengthening exercises because having pelvic pain and discomfort can make vaginal delivery alot worse. I would definitley talk to your doctor about ways to help treat the pain your are dealing with, do you feel as if your baby has dropped?

Thank you tmhess. I can't believe I may have to live with this. I walk at a snails pace now everywhere and everything I do. Making sure to be careful. I'm walking better today but still feel the pain 24/7. So I just know I have to try to take breaks as much as possible and not over exert myself.

I second what Paperheart is saying. The ligament connections in pelvis are relaxed during pregnancy to allow for increased movement to aid in childbirth. This is called pubic symphysis dysfunction. It is completely normal, and basically any activity that requires asymmetrical movement of the legs is likely to cause pain. However, if the pain becomes excruciating I would mention it to your doctor as physical therapy can help in cases where the pelvis is becoming misaligned.

Ok I read something about that happening. Baby has definitely dropped. My mom said that today. Every movement makes me feel like I need to pee. Maybe baby will come early?! I somewhat hope so because this is terribly uncomfy. Anytime after 37 weeks would be good with me!

Yes, I had this with both pregnancies, but much worse with my second. The pubic bone actually has joints that loosen and eventually separate during labor. The second time around, this loosening tends to happen a lot earlier on because your body has been through all this and knows what it needs to do. I'd say your baby has descended further into your pelvis and is putting a lot of pressure on your bones. It might help to look up the anatomy of what happens to your pubic bone during childbirth. Then again, maybe you'd rather not know haha.
