Q: Sharp pains in my vagina

Since Wednesday or Thursday, I have been experiencing sharp pains in my vagina. What could these be? I was having a lot of contractions on Saturday that were getting closer together and stronger and then they stopped as soon as I laid down in bed. After that this sharp pain was stronger and more frequent. I also have the urge to go #2 a lot. I've been going more than normal, but I have the pressure there a lot more than normal, but when I try and go, nothing comes out (most of the time). I am 36w5d with our baby measuring 40 weeks already. I know I am ready for him to be here, could these be early labor signs?

I got that in all 4 of my previous pregnancies during the last couple weeks. Its the cervix...its changing, softening up to prepare for birth.also because the baby is quite big you could be getting a kick down there lol.I know how that sucks lol

It's your body getting ready ,I've had this and when I was examined at 38 weeks,I was getting induced and I was already 3cm dilated.

The vaginal pain could be from the cervix depending on where you're feeling it. A lot of women experience a sensation called lightning crotch, which is a sudden, piercing pain that shoots through the cervix. It's not necessarily a sign of impending labor as it can be felt s early as the first trimester. It does sound like your baby is possibly descending further into your pelvis, which happens in the final weeks.
