Just saw my ob today! We get our first sono on Monday! Just goes to show that just because its a very faint line doesn't mean its not a true BFP!

PaperHeart,
I haven't actually taken a digital this time around. I did with my first pregnancy but I have found that the first response digital's do only give one line for neg witch is kind of nice, I decided not to take one just because I see my Dr in 4 days. I am just panicking :(

Did your digital read out actually confirm your pregnancy or are you going by the test strip lines after the window declared negative? You should know that a digi test strip will always show two lines and you must go only by the read out in the window. Your best bet is to confirm whether or not you're pg with a doctor.

The easiest way to alleviate your fears at this point is a blood test. You have had some positive tests, I would call your OB/midwife to let them know and see if they will confirm it for you. :)

Google the hook effect. After your HCG reaches a certain amount usually around 8-9 weeks pregnancy tests get lighter. Google it you'll get your answers.

When I was pregnant with my first child I had negative hgc tests until I was 3 and a half months, Ive gotten 9 faint positives and 2 negs. The 2 negs were on dollar store tests witch I should know better taking them because thats what I used the first time around and when I got 20 negative tests I was convinced I wasnt pregnant just to find out 8 weeks latter that I was 14 weeks along. So this is why I am so confused, my last period was July 8 and only lasted 4 days but that's pretty normal for me. I have all the symptoms of being pregnant and as far as I know a Faint positive is still a positive I am just confused to why I am still getting faints, it was a first response digital that finally gave me a positive the first time around the the lines were very dark when I took it apart. I really hope its not a miscarriage we have been TTC for 2 years with no luck. I see mu OB on the 8th but this is killing me

I can think of 3 possible reasons, some good and some bad. First, there is the hook effect. Basically once your hcg levels get too high the test can't handle it and shows up negative. Second, you may be one of those few women who just don't excrete much or any hcg in their urine and need a blood test. Third, the one you may not like, is you could have had a miscarriage but haven't started bleeding yet. If you haven't had an u/s yet you could ask for one, or at least ask for blood work to.see if all is looking good.
