The fetal pole won't be seen after the heartbeat is beating. You will usually only see it at a very early ultrasound (between 5-6 weeks). A heartbeat is great! The next time you go back in, the baby will double in size!

it was a Gp that sent me for the ultrasound as I had some spotting last week. you know the tech's are very against it. when I had a blighted ovum they did a vaginal ultrasound but that was at my Obs office. can't wait for the 21st October to see this little rainbow baby

At 7 weeks I don't understand why you didn't request a transvaginal ultrasound. You'd have seen everything much better than just having the abdominal scan.

Every OB is different. Mine does a vaginal ultrasound until 12 weeks. A much better picture... I must say.

I'd say if they saw the heartbeat then your good to go! Probably to early to get a good visual of everything!
