Q: Mucous plug.. For ladies who recently had a baby or remember as I don't haha

I had a show with my son is this different to your mucous plug?.. after losing your mucous plug did you go into labour hours/days after?..
I've been having mild contractions since Tuesday, loafs of pressure in my pelvis and back.. baby is engaged and I'm 1cm dilated confirmed by hospital on Wednesday.. I lost my mucous plug this morning but was just standard no bloody colour or brown colour, maybe a tiny shade of pink..
I know everyone is different but would be nice to hear of what other women had..

Just thought I would add that I also lost my mucus plug over a longer period of time and it would regenerate. However, I had bloody show at 9pm and contractions started at 2am the next morning!

Hey hey, so with my DS almost 4years ago, I was 40weeks, woke up at around 6am on a Friday went to pee and (sorry tmi) a mucousy pinkish glob of stickiness was on my underwear. Called the doctor and he said it was my mucous plug. I went in to be checked I was 2cm. I stayed 2cm with contractions coming and going until Sunday Evening. 3am Monday after being 5cm for a few hours, I was induced. Mucuous plug going for me meant a slow and steady progression of labour(until I(or my cervix) got stuck). But I think it means action maybe might happen soon, its like its saying "Watch this space..."

It helps more than you know.. I feel stressed out.. its horrible knowing something little has happened but nothing is happening enough.. I'm exhausted just because of all the aching and pain.. seems to have all eased up tonight though I'm just extremely tired.. Feel like all my spd and stuff has faded away.. not great signs lol..

this probably wont help, but with my son, I had a sharp pain down there one night and I stood up and clear mucous like fluid came out..kinda like clear snot TMI sorry. but that's what marked the beginning of labor for me. the hospital told me whatever it was, it wasn't my water...they said maybe my plug. I had to go home to wait til I was in more of an active labor but about 8 hours after that happened I did officially lose what looked more like a mucous plug...yellowish pink/brown thing lol and gradually labor increased and I had my son 18 hours later lol

I haven't had a baby recently but I am currently 38w2d. I started losing my mucous plug in pieces over the last few weeks, it varied from yellowish/white to pink/brown. I have not had bright red blood. I started losing my mucous plug because I have started to dilate. At 36 weeks I was 2 cm, by 37 weeks I was 4cm, and at my appointment yesterday I was 4cm and 80% effaced. The baby is engaged. I asked a similar question on here recently and got a lot of really great answers. :) I think that losing your mucous plug isn't necessarily an imminent sign of labor, it seems that the bright red "bloody show" is much more telling.
