It is quite expecred if ibsay that an induced labor is far more painful than a natural labor. Anything happening naturally in its own pace is best suited than a forcible act. Even my first baby was birn after a long awaited, post due-date slow contractions. But when the doctors felt it was getting a little too late and can be dangerous for the either one of us, is when they chose to do an induced delivery. The hardest thing for me to tolerate was the lack of rest between contractions with the Pitocin. As one would be subsiding, the next would kick in. The monitor never went back to a baseline. It got to be overwhelming for me. Every experience is unique, of course, and that was mine. Expecting a repeat of that and getting a much milder labor with my second was a pleasant and welcome surprise. Every experience is unique, of course, and that was mine. I was induced a few weeks ago so know exactly
How you feel. I had the pessary and two lots
Of this gel stuff, had waters broken and eventually went on the drip causing me to contract but never got past 2cm so had a section. I would definitely suggest epidural if you end up on the hormone drip. Good luck hope all goes well for you :)

They may give you an emergency csection if things don't progress. Stay calm get an epidural if you need it. Good luck :-)

My induction isn't going so well.. They used a propess pessary on me yesterday and has nearly been in for 24 hrs.. ive been contracting but I'm not dilating still even though I'm in pain, especially in my back. They re do the whole process at 10. I'm exhausted already. But I have to keep walking around and bouncing on this ball to dilate!! Thanks for your responses :)

I've had both. My induction did not go well. So I will not scare you. I'm sure the doctors will do what is best for you & your baby. You will be in good hands. :-)

My 1st was natural labor and my 2nd was induced. Pitocin is going to cause you contractions to be stronger and more often then going through natural labor, but it is not something that is worse than natural labor. They both are very much a like just that it makes the contractions much more closer together. Then when they broke my water, it went really quick! I know I felt more pain being with being induced because I was already in pain emotionally... when you have endorphins running through you it is much better. Try not to stress! It is all worth it in the end!
