Q: What was/is your experience with progesterone supplements taken by mouth?

I was prescribed progesterone pills today and was told to take them by mouth (100mg in the morning, 200mg at night before bed) and was wondering if anyone else has had to do this and how was your outcome? I have had multiple miscarriages in the past so I'm really hoping this decreases my chance of miscarrying this time, it is also my first time taking progesterone. I'm only 4w3d along and only just got blood work done today and have to go in Monday for more blood work but I won't know my numbers until they call me back Monday afternoon. I have my first ultrasound in one week from today and am so nervous but I feel really hopeful and optimistic this time around.

I would ask your dr about using them vaginally. They are more effective and lose a lot of their potency when they filter through the liver. Maybe that's why he has you on 300mg though idk. I use my 200mg vaginally at night. I've had 2 chemicals taking them orally but i am older too so that could of very well been the issue. This pregnancy i have been using them vaginally from day one. Orally they can make you sleepy.
