My kids never had to stay longer in the hospital with me being GBS positive. I tested positive for it with all 4 of my pregnancies (this one included).

My hospital's protocol was two rounds of IV antibiotics, so if you go into labor naturally, it's a good idea to get to the hospital sooner than later to make sure you've got enough time to get both rounds. The first round for me caused a pretty intense pain in my wrist for the first 20 minutes or so. The nurse didn't tell me that might happen and I freaked out a little. My daughter also had to stay a mandatory 2 or 3 nights (can't remember) for adequate monitoring to make sure it didn't pass on to her, so we were stuck in the hospital longer than we would've been otherwise.

You will get an IV with antibiotics when you get to the hospital to reduce the risk of infection passed to your baby. I don't know if you plan on having a natural labor but that's the only thing that threw me off, was being hooked up to a machine while I was trying to have a natural labor. I couldn't move around as freely.
