Q: Bleeding and cramping. Scared I'm miscarrying. Ready to give up hope.

I know I've posted several questions this week, but I'm scared. Friday morning, I saw my primary care physician. My hcg was 34. I started spotting later that same day and was sent to the E.R. by my primary care physician. My hcg was 52 and my cervix was closed. Nothing on ultrasound. Saturday, I started bleeding red. It's heavy enough to look like a period and has clotting present. Sunday, I started cramping. I returned to the E.R. and still nothing on ultrasound, hcg was 135, but no cervix exam was performed. They were even giving me the "it's not your fault" miscarriage speech. I bled and cramped all through Monday. It's Tuesday morning. Still cramping and bleeding. This is day 4 of moderate red blood flow. I'm scheduled to see one of the midwives at my OB's office because he isn't available. I feel so certain that the midwife will say I've miscarried. I'm so scared. I don't know what to do. I feel like I should just give up on this pregnancy :'(

I know you won't like this answer. I'm really sorry with the heavy bleeding and clotting it really sounds like you've lost the baby. I'm hoping that's not the case but with the very low HCG, bleeding, clotting and cramps and pretty likely that you did. Losing a baby at any stage isn't easy at all. just try to seek comfort in the arms of your loved ones. I've been through 1 missed miscarriage and 3 chemical pregnancies so if you need to talk PM me any time.
