After some research, I found that anesthesia is typically NOT recommended in the first trimester. Do I just have to try to wait until the second trimester to have this tooth extracted? I have a consultation with an oral surgeon on Friday and I'll definitely make sure he knows about my pregnancy up front.
Any advice would be appreciated, thank you!

Q: Wisdom tooth keeping me up at night... help!
I'm 4w6d today and I was unable to sleep at all last night due to persistent burning pain in my jaw. After over 4 hours of trying and failing to fall asleep, I got up and looked in my mouth at the bathroom mirror. The center of the tooth has rotted out completely (it was partially impacted for the first 1-2 years after eruption) and the root/gum is exposed and irritated, so I think it might be infected. There's a radiating burning discomfort throughout the whole left side of my jaw. After some research, I found that anesthesia is typically NOT recommended in the first trimester. Do I just have to try to wait until the second trimester to have this tooth extracted?
