Q: Question for moms who formula feed

Hey ladies,

I have a question about how you guys manage formula feeding while out and about with your little one. Right now I am just taking premade bottles (that I mixed) with me which I keep cold in a little cooler bag. But I don't want to give Mackenzie cold formula and I am not always somewhere where I can heat it up, so I am wondering how some other ladies handle this.
I have tried taking the premixed stuff with me but she only drinks 4-6 ounces at one time so I end up having to throw the remaining out (and that can get expensive). I have thought about taking bottles prefilled with the right amount of water and bringing the formula separate so I can add it when she needs it but I am just wondering what your tricks are for making it less difficult.
Mackenzie never really fusses unless she is hungry, and when she is hungry she wants to eat RIGHT NOW. lol

I highly recommend using Similac Advanced when you can as the ingredients in this formula are superior to all other formulas. We have always formula fed and I bought a portioned plastic container where I can put in the powder portion per feeding. That way you only add the milk when needed avoiding waste. Enjoy your time with your precious baby mama xo

Thanks for the advice guys! This was something I never thought about before having Mackenzie. I think I will bring a bottle of water with proportioned formula like I had been thinking of doing. I think that will work better than what I had been doing. I also think I will try to find the smaller premixed bottles. I have 8 ounce ones right now and it seems a shame to throw out the extra. But it will be good to have them on hand in an emergency. :)

I bring a bottle of water, preportioned formula, and a clean bottle. WWalMart has formula portion containers for like $3. Then when V is done, Irinse the empty bottle so it's not grubby. Also, I second the smaller bottle of premade formula pbc mentioned.

What I like are the small ready to use bottles (they are about 2 oz) from Enfamil. They work well for really young babies that don't need a lot. It's nice because you just store and serve at room temp. Our babies take anywhere between 2-4oz per feeding so if we only end up using 3 oz, I don't feel too bad about getting rid of the remaining oz. We also use these for overnight feedings so we don't have to worry about mixing formula for a crying baby. Here is a link to show you the package: http://www.amazon.com/Enfamil-Newborn-Formula-Nursette-Packaging/dp/B004K3I2EY/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1449861131&sr=8-7&keywords=enfamil+ready+use. We can only find them at certain stores (Walmart being one) and you get 6, 2 oz bottles for about $5-6. We also haven't been able to find the nipples for the bottle except online. I honestly don't know how well this will work as they get older but it's worked so far on outings to the store, pediatrician's, etc.
