Q: Zika virus

Hi everyone.
I'm wondering if anyone is concerned about the Zika virus.
Hubby and I had our honeymoon in December in Punta Cana, DR, before Zika was there. We conceived shortly after returning home and now I'm seeing that it's everywhere in the Caribbean. I asked my doc about it and she told me that I should still be tested. Anyone have a similar situation? I'm hoping to get the results back soon and really hoping that nothing is wrong.

Hello everyone. Here you some recommendation to prevent Zika virus.
First of all try using insect repellents. Do not forget about wearing long-sleeved garments and long pants. Also placing mosquito nets over beds (in some cases it useful). Try to using window and door screens. As well running an air conditioner.
It is also recommended empty any areas with collected standing water, as this is a common environment in which mosquitos can lay their eggs.
It is recommended specifically that mom traveling to countries that pose a risk for contracting Zika virus avoid mosquito bites.
When choosing an insect repellent, recommend using products that contain DEET, picaridin, and IR335. As addition using products that contain oil of lemon eucalyptus and para-methane-diol, which can also provide long-lasting protection.
Also recommend applying insect repellent after the application of sunscreen. And onto clothes - for example, treating or wearing clothes treated with permethrin.
