Q: brown dishcharge during pregnancy

I am in my 12th week of pregnancy having twin gestation. From last two days, i am having brownish discharge from vagina several times during day time. I have also consulted my doctor regarding this. As per the discharge is kind of residue and not to be worried. I wanted to know whether such a thing is common among pregnant women? Could anyone explain why exactly brown discharge happens?

I can totally understand your concern about your safe pregnancy, and a healthy child. It is beyond the bearable levels of pain if one has to go through a miscarriage, and i wish no mother has ever face the same. Although it is a scary process, but if you stress yourself sick it is only going to harm both you and your baby. So to keep your anxiety in check understand that a few symptoms are very normal during a pregnancy. You don't have to stress out every time. Instead keep your calm and assess the situation smartly. For that keep a thorough knowledge about every aspect related with pregnancy, so that you know a few wayouts if something happens immediately. Just like nausea, sleeplessness, morning sickness, swelling, excessive urination all comes in a wholesome package of pregnancy, so does bleeding. And in this, only the brown bleeding is normal during early pregnancy which occurs due to sudden expansion in the womb area that leads to breakage of a few blood vessels around our abdomen

My doctor told me that the blood vessels in your cervix swell and get closer to the surface when pregnant, so it's easier to bleed a little bit (particularly during exams). Since it takes a while to travel through your vagina, the blood oxidizes in the air and turns brown. So what you're seeing could be some minor spotting?

I got this next day of scan during 8th week. It came 3 to 4 times next day after examination and it stopped after that.
