Q: Echogenic Focus......Please help!!!!!

I went in for a Level II ultrasound due to a low lying placenta and subchriotic bleeds (I am 20 weeks). I have been spotting since 8 weeks. Placenta moved (still a little low) and no more bleeds. Ultrasound tech said everything looked good (a doctor reviews the pictures once tech is finished). The next morning I received a call from my doctor who told me there was an echogenic focus on the baby's heart and that it was an indicator for Down syndrome. I panicked and made an appointment to see a doctor within the practice that day to discuss it more (when you hear something like that your mind blanks). She told me it was nothing to worry about because there were no other markers found on the ultrasound. She asked if I wanted to do blood testing to detect Trisomy 21. I never had any previous blood testing with this pregnancy in regards to chromosome abnormalities. A few questions because I've done all the research I can....
