I was induced at 10 days overdue which is the norm for being induced. I had a sweep at 7 days overdue which didn't work so they left it a few more days to induce me.
They won't let you go over 14 days overdue as the placenta will gradually stops working at 42 weeks. This is what my consulatant told me.

My OB will do a sweep at 40wks but won't start any drugs til 41wks, and baby must be out by 42wks (if u opt out of induction). That's just my Dr's preference...generally 42wks is the max they let 'em bake tho.
Hang in there...there is an end! =))

it varies from Dr to Dr. But never more then 14 days. But if your really uncomfortable they might just induce you. Good Luck!!!
