Q: At 21 w and 2 d, the ultrasound technician couldn't Determine the sex. I's this normal?

I went for my ultrasound a few days ago. I was scheduled when I was just 8w. So it was a looong wait .
The technician couldn't Determine the sex of my baby.
Now I'm so worried. Is this normal? At 21 w?????????
Will it be safe if I schedule another ultrasound?
Is it better to just wait and see when he/she is born?
Please help .

I agree with buckeye, sometimes our little ones are just stubborn. I had to go for three ultrasounds because she was being so uncooperative at my 20 week anatomy scan. The first time they couldn't see the heart well and she had her face covered. We went back 4 weeks later and they could get the heart pictures but she was still covering her face with her arms and legs. 4 weeks after that we went back again to try to get a profile picture and she finally cooperated. So we didn't get to see her profile until 28 weeks.

With my first two, they were very uncooperative during the anatomy ultrasound and we were not 100% on the gender of either. My doctor told me with the first "I think this is a girl, but I'm only about 60%". With my second, we went through 90% of the ultrasound believing it was another girl until the last minute the doctor said, "Wait, what was that? I think I might have just seen some little boy parts," but he still wouldn't cooperate. This pregnancy I did the free cell fetal DNA, so we didn't need to check the gender, but we instead ran into not being able to get clear pictures of the heart.

This long post is all my way of saying that it's likely nothing to be concerned with. Sometimes our little ones are just uncooperative in there. They don't know that we're so anxious to see them. I've had multiple ultrasounds this pregnancy and they are completely safe, so it's up to you and your doctor whether you have another one or just wait it out.
