Q: Leg Pain when Sleeping

I'm 17 weeks + 2 days and started sleeping on my side a couple weeks ago. It's causing me some trouble: my bottom leg always hurts. I sleep with one of those giant pillows between my legs, but it doesn't help. It's preventing me from falling asleep. I also seem to have restless leg syndrome already, though I thought that wasn't supposed to start until the third trimester. I can deal with the RLS, I think, though it's annoying. But I can't figure out how to cope with the pain in my bottom leg, and I can't find anything online. Help. I have to work the whole way through my pregnancy. I need my sleep. Last night I was awake until 5am. It sucked.

during the third trimester I could never stay comfortable for more than a couple hours. I actually used to start the night in bed and then when I woke up around 2-3am and couldn't get comfortable again I would actually move my sleeping location. I would switch to the couch in the middle of the night and would usually be able to get at least a few more hours of sleep.

Also, try placing pillows more places than just between your legs. As your belly gets bigger it actually pulls your back forward which causes discomfort, I used to put a pillow behind me and a thin one under my belly. You wouldn't think your belly would make a big difference but it really throws everything off.

You can ask somebody to massage the below knee part or massage for 5 mins by yourself. See whether it helps. Even I have tat problem, I will ask my husband to massage and will feel better for few minutes. Use that time to fall asleep.
