Q: Nausea only after taking vitamin?

Hi! I am 5 weeks and 4 days pregnant and so far I only noticed nausea after I eat breakfast and take my prenatal vitamin. I didn't have a problem with my prenatals before pregnancy. I also gag sometimes when brushing teeth. But other than that I don't feel too nauseous. I am worried because I've had two missed miscarriages in the past. Has anyone else only had nausea after taking vitamins or brushing teeth but not other times?

I'm 27 weeks and still to this day I get nauseous after taking my prenatal. Hopefully it goes away soon! Good luck. ????

With my first I couldn't brush my teeth without gagging for the first few weeks. Food often had the same effect too. It did pass. I took it as a good sign that my body was working hard.

I take my vitamins right before going to bed. Otherwise they make me very nauseous! I had the same problem with my first and someone suggested the night. Made all the difference in the world!

They say being nauseas is a good thing. With the prenatal it made me nauseas so I started taking it at night after I eat dinner and I felt better so now thats the only time I take it.

As for the brushing your teeth, everyday during my first trimester I would get nauseas during brushing my teeth even having a mint in my mouth made me nauseas. I would gag. Once I got into my second trimester the nausea subsided, I still get it sometimes but not as bad as before and no longer get nauseas when brushing my teeth.

Good luck hun and congrats.

Well, it doesn't indicate for sure anything, although they "say" it's a good sign and I do welcome mine. My first 4 pregnancies I had none, two babies, two mc. Then fifth pregnancy, last child, I had it starting at a little over six weeks, this time started at 4 and I'm 12 weeks tomorrow. I've never thrown up or anything. And yes sometimes I think it has to do with certain things like prenantals, etc, so if you can, don't put much stock in anything other than you are pregnant right now and try not to stress if you aren't hugging the porcelain god :). I say that, but I understand as I stress about it too lol but really it does us no good because what will be will be and I'm proof that nausea doesn't indicate a problem and each pregnancy is different.

I think prenatal can cause nausea, so if its really bothering you, you could try a different one, but also at 5 weeks you should be starting to feel nausea and its a really good sign, it means the pregnancy is going well, so as much as it stinks, try to enjoy it :)
