Q: Could I be feeling myself dilate?

So it has been about 2.5 years since I had my daughter, and I have already forgotten what some things feel like....but I do remember feeling this way with her towards the end and ended up starting dilating. That being said, I have had lower back/sciatic pain and cramps all day, along with my joints feel loose and have been "giving" when they haven't before. I have also been having pretty bad pelvic pressure and pain, especially when walking or moving. I can feel my baby's movement all the way into my vagina, which hasn't happened until last night, and it seems I am feeling it lower in my abdomen today than normal. I have sharp pains in my cervix to with my braxton hicks contractions today. Is it possible to feel myself starting to dilate?

Hi dear,
Congratulations,
Yes! It is possible to feel yourself dilating. Not actually feeling dilation, but you can surely feel the baby, and tgat your body is getting prepared for having your baby. Not sure if it would be specifically dilating, but could be cervix thinning as well. Your body is getting ready for baby! Ask your OB to check your cervix at your next appt and you'll know! You can touch your lowee abdomen and feel some movements, more rigrous than the usual ones!

Yes I can definitely tell that my body is getting ready to have this baby. Just walking through the grocery store today, I can tell that it won't be long. It is funny though, to see people who seem to be nervous around me....I have received many OMG is she going to have this baby in here looks from men and then the little old ladies who go "oh honey you don't have but a day or so left". Then I have to freak them out more and say well I actually have a few more weeks lol. Ahh it's good to have a sense of humor and laugh if you can while in pain.
