Q: Anyone else diagnosed with diabetes during pregnancy?

I had my glucose test yesterday and was told I failed terribly...they aren't even doing the three hour test, just diagnosing me with diabetes. Any tips or advice for changing my diet?

I did not have it with this pregnancy but did have it with my first. I did a lot of lean proteins and veggies and by checking my blood sugar regularly was able to determine which carbs adversely impacted my blood sugar the most (white pasta). My diet was similar to a modified Adkins diet. Is your doctor going to have you meet with a nutritionist? That was the first thing I did after being diagnosed. I also found that if I went for a short walk after eating (even just around the block) that my sugar stayed more manageable. It is definitely hard to deal with, especially when you crave a lot of foods you can't have. I wish you all of the best.
