Q: Weight gain

Just wondering if it's okay not to gain any weight some weeks. Overall, I've gained enough weight so far, but some weeks I don't gain any - should i be concerned at all?

I had my OB appt on Tues and gained all of 1lb in 4wks. He wasn't the least bit concerned becuz the appt 4wks earlier, I had put on 7.25lbs...which he wasn't concerned with either. :/
I asked him about it and he said that as a whole, for the pregnancy, I'm on target for what I need to gain. It doesn't need to be a steady gain every week, and it won't be, as long as my weight increases and the baby is showing growth, he doesn't worry. Try not to worry about it too much, as long as u stay in the range that's suitable for u, how it goes on isn't a big deal.

My last pregnancy I didn't gain weight until after 20 weeks, and then started losing weight the last 5 weeks of the pregnancy. As long as baby is growing as it should, I wouldn't be too worried about lack of gain. If it becomes an issue, your doctor should let you know. Also, if it will give you some peace of mind, it never hurts to ask your doctor about it.

Yeah, as long as you are eating a lot of nutrients and healthy foods and doc says you are ok you shouldn't worry. I am one of those who gain a ton :(. I'm almost 18 weeks and have gained 12 lbs already. I always pack it on.

I lost about 15 lbs my first trimester. Second trimester, I gained most of the 15 back and I'd say most of my weight was gained in the last 5-6 weeks. Some women don't gain much, others gain a ton. All that matters is baby is gaining.

My entire first trimester I did not gain a pound. Now I been gaining at least one pound a week, until last week I realized I gained 2 pounds in a week. However, everybody is different. As long as your eating you should be fine.

I lost weight during the first 18 or so weeks, then started gaining. For me it was pretty consistant from 18-30 weeks and then was not again. I think as long as the doctor says you are doing fine, don't worry about it. Everyone gains at a different pace.
