Q: Periods after Delivery

So question for those who have already given birth. When did your period start to go back to normal. I gave birth 4 months ago and only breastfed for 1 month. I got my first period about 6 weeks after birth. Since then however I have had my period every 12-16 days. I used to have a regular 28 day cycle. Anyone else have this?
Thanks,

Hi ladies,
It totally depends on every women, and for how long they are continuing to breast feed. Give it a bit of time. I swear I read somewhere it could be up to a year after delivery for it to go completely back to normal. I started my period 5-6 weeks after and the first couple of cycles were exactly as you are experiencing. Plus, I was trying to get back on birth control and was having a bunch of issues with it. I'd say though that by 5-6 months postpartum, things have been rather normal, back to my 28-30 day cycle. Bleeding too has been more normal as well. You can keep a check on for how long you are on birth control. Because the hormome level of body is very much imbalanced from the longest of time. And as soon as you are out of labor, we start breastfeeding. Some women don't even breast feed for the valid time of 6 month and starts on birth control right away, this is more likely to cause an obvious trouble with their regular menstrual cycle.
