Q: Baby already head down?

So yesterday I was 26 weeks and 6 days. At my appointment my baby was already head down. I asked if it was too early and she said its perfect.
Has anyone else had their baby head down early?

I also, think he will be here earlier than expected.

My daughter was head down from a 12 week US until I gave birth at 38w6d. This pregnancy the baby has been in the head down position since my 20 week anatomy scan and I am 28 weeks now. The baby being head down is no indication of labor on the way, they start to move into that position as the head gets heavier.

Ideally they want the baby to be head down as you get further along. As they get bigger the chances of them flipping or changing presentation gets lower and lower and if they aren't head down at the end it can be a complication. So it is good that they are head down! You want him/her to stay that way. :)

A better sign of labor being closer is if the baby's head drops and starts to engage with the cervix, that could happen before labor or it might not happen until right before baby decides it is time. :)

My daughter had her head parked in my pelvis from the 20 week anatomy scan right on up to delivery! My water broke at 39 weeks, so not very early at all. She did have some wicked bruises on her little noggin that took a couple months to resolve themselves from being up against my pelvic bone for so long!

Mine was head down since my first scan at 12 weeks, still head down at 18 week and 22 week scan, and stayed that way for the rest of my pregnancy. He was only born 2 days early.

My babies have been head down breech and tranverse. Iam 25 weeks +1 day and last wednesday one twin was head down and other breech today at scan both head down one further down than the other. It's apparently good to be head down as they are gettign ready to me in the right position for delivery. This early on though they are mvoing around so much that position can chcange anytime right up to birth.
